    Customers Bank, recently named by Forbes magazine as the 35th Best Bank in America (there are over 5,700 banks in the United States!), has an immediate opening for a Collections Specialist in our Special Assets Administration. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for handling collection calls on both commercial and consumer accounts, administering overall collection efforts, HPD monitoring and resolution, and participating in various customer service related activities. You will also be expected to keep detailed notes in tracking systems and send out discretionary letters and correspondence to borrowers in a timely manner. This individual will also be responsible for corresponding directly to the borrower and relationship manager on accounts.

     

    We are looking for a team player who has excellent customer service skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain detailed records and back up information on all actions taken
    • Communicate directly with Borrowers, Relationship Manager, and outside agencies
    • Follow through on outstanding items
    • Provide feedback to Manager and ensure quality performance
    • Be accountable for actions and complete work in a timely but accurate manner
    • Carry out responsibilities with professionalism, respect for others, in accordance with the Bank’s policies and related laws

    Qualifications

    • 1+ year of Banking experience preferred
    • Extensive knowledge of HPD and Tax Departments desired
    • Prior collection experience is a plus, but not required
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word Office Suite
    • Experience/knowledge with FIS IBS preferred
    • Strong ability to multi-task with a fierce attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both internally and externally
    • Ability to build strong relationships
