Customers Bank, recently named by Forbes magazine as the 35th Best Bank in America (there are over 5,700 banks in the United States!), has an immediate opening for an AVP, Sr. Risk Assessment & Monitoring Specialist within our BSA Compliance group. As an AVP, Sr. Risk Assessment & Monitoring Specialist, you will ensure the BSA/AML/OFAC and Red Flag ID Theft Risk Assessment is in compliance with federal regulations and policy requirements. You will also certify it meets the expectations of internal audit and external examiners. This individual will be responsible testing, monitoring, and reporting current processes throughout the institution, and work with the bank’s management to develop stronger controls and procedures for identified weaknesses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain communications with BSA/AML/OFAC and Red Flag ID Theft Risk Assessment contacts, compliance officers, and other senior management to identify and evaluate new products, services, delivery channels, clients, and geographies.
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of the BSA/AML/OFAC and Red Flag ID Theft Risk Assessment software application methodologies; continually evaluating the system and processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Execute special projects, such as audit preparation, systems implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Create, document, and perform maintenance of policies and procedures for the risk assessment process.
  • Collect and assemble data for monthly and quarterly reporting, as well as the annual quarterly update of the BSA/AML/OFAC and Red Flag ID Theft Risk Assessment.
  • Complete and maintain audit quality documents and compliance monitoring/testing work papers.
  • Conduct GAP analysis’ comparing processes and controls in place at the vendor and Customers Bank.
  • Provide the BSA Officer statuses of completion, as needed or requested.
  • Analyze and differentiate inherent and residual risks for BSA/AML/OFAC and Red Flag ID Theft, to evaluate applicable controls and identify gaps.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of process management experience in a financial institution or related financial industry experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in BSA/AML auditing, risk assessment, or compliance monitoring.
  • CAMS, CRCM, or similar certification required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Thorough working knowledge of BSA/AML reporting requirements and regulations, including, but not limited to, BSA/AML Risk Assessments.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially with senior leadership during time-critical situations.
  • Strong understanding of process, project, and production management principles.
  • Experienced in properly documenting Audit/Compliance Testing work papers.
  • Ability to work with little oversight, and develop risk assessment plan and scope to meet compliance monitoring goals.
  • Strong relationship building skills within the organization and third party vendors.
  • Advanced computer information and analytical skills.
