Customers Bank, recently named by Forbes magazine as the 35th Best Bank in America (there are over 5,700 banks in the United States!), is looking for a temporary Project Assistant within our Policies & Procedures department. This person will write, design, create and edit documentation, communications, and training materials. In addition, the individual will conduct recurrent classroom trainings and workshops for team members at all levels of the bank. Other responsibilities will include maintaining documentation and communication files where meticulous detail to version control and document integrity is essential.


We are looking for someone with the ability to maintain a positive attitude while working within challenging and fast-paced deadlines.


  • Create, write and design end-user, high-quality policy and procedure documentation for all departments/levels of the Bank.
  • Write newsletters introducing and explaining new and revised documentation.
  • Create and design usable and efficient forms, quick reference guides, and FAQs.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness of all operational documentation.
  • Verify accuracy with subject-matter experts for all operational and training documentation.
  • Maintain Branch Operations website, upload all content, and ensure content integrity.
  • Create, design, and maintain job training knowledge documents that are consistent with established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct recurrent classroom trainings, new hire orientations, on-the-job demonstrations, and workshops for team members at all levels of the bank.


  • Undergraduate degree in business/technical writing, communications, journalism, etc. preferred.
  • At least 2+ years’ recent experience writing business documentation, corporate communications, and/or training materials required.
  • Financial services experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Information Mapping methodology or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read, analyze and understand governmental regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to producing quality documentation and communications.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan own work activities and easily manage multiple projects/priorities.
  • Aptitude to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Team player and collaborative attitude approach to work.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely explain tasks to others.
  • Skill conducting in-person trainings with ability to positively control all aspects of the classroom training.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Adobe.

Writing Samples

  • Candidates will be required to submit a procedural writing sample at some point during the interview process.
  • Candidates may be requested to provide recent writing samples of business documentation, communication and/or training curriculum.
