Customers Bank, recently named by Forbes magazine as the 35th Best Bank in America (there are over 5,700 banks in the United States!), has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Data Analyst.This person reports to the Enterprise Data Governance Manager and will initially focus on data used for bank stress testing (DFAST). This newly created position is a great opportunity for someone who likes to stand up new processes and influence change.

 

We are looking for a person who is passionate about data and who wants to make a difference by ensuring that high quality data is delivered.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the authoritative source for critical data elements (CDEs). 
  • Work with data stewards and subject matter experts to document CDE lineage and business glossary definitions. 
  • Coordinate the construction of CDE automated transfers into the data warehouse and creation of associated data quality rules in the database.
  • Support a comprehensive data quality program. 
  • Maintain a data stewardship structure across business units. 
  • Train, coach, and support data stewards. 
  • Profile, analyze, and assess data quality problems.
  • Determine root cause of data quality issues. 
  • Design and execute remediation plans working with data stewards. 
  • Define data quality metrics and business rules. 
  • Continuously measure and monitor data quality.
  • Coordinate the cleansing and correction of systemic data quality defects.
  • Design and implement operational data quality procedures then monitor performance.
  • Maintain metadata management policies and procedures. 
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce standards.
  • Implement and maintain metadata tools. 
  • Manage metadata repositories and data dictionaries.
  • Enforce policies and processes needed to improve and maintain the quality and ownership of data.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of hands-on data management experience.
  • Ability to model and improve business processes.
  • SQL expertise with enterprise databases such as Oracle or MS SQL Server.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

 

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Oracle PL/SQL programming proficiency.
  • Advanced knowledge of data quality management methodologies.
  • Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) experience.
  • Direct involvement with process management and improvement methodologies. (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • CDMP certification.
  • Banking background.
  • Familiarity with master data management. (MDM)
  • Basic QlikView dashboard development.
